Spp Show Reel

I have been going through my work from first year and as the show reel is 90second long i thought of put 1second from each clip and then some other effects will be added to. This show Reel is to presented at the exhibition of our final year work.

Artefacts

After i finish doing my artefact's i start writing my Final Conclusion where i could talk about my results and understand of my chosen area. i believe this conclusion will help me in my presentation and i would use that as my reading notices too . i have start working on my PowerPoint presentation to which will be presented on Tuesday 18th May 2010. i will be talking about how i thought of this project why i choose this project and what is my understanding about this particular research project.

Client Evalution

I am done with writing my evaluation now i have a full week to get it proof read and then hand it in i have been up to date with my evaluation and finish it on time i decide to do it by. Right now i know once i read the whole report again i would find so many random mistakes which wont make sense to me which is why i gave myself a whole week to sit and read it again and again to make it good enough to hand it in.

Artefacts

Ok I have finally done all my six artefact's and i am so happy about it all I have to do is write my conclusion so I can talk about my best results i got during this test. it was fun doing this project as the topic I choose was quiet interesting and stories about people,places etc I got to find were amazing didn't know allot of the stuff but when I went my way to find out about them I was amazed my tutor Danny Kaye was a big help during this process as he is my tutor for both of my projects client and personal research project and I had fun working with him.

Today i printed out my questionnaire for my 6th artifact and got them done my students as well now i am working on the results and then write the evaluation down,as i want to post this asap and get on with rest of the projects.

Client Evaluation

Evaluation is going really good so far i have made a questionnaire to get more results from people of what they think for my documentary,on 19th i went to show my work to client and went they watched they were really happy about it. they have also offered me to work with them in their next up coming projects and i am looking forward too that in may as now i can work in theatre and gain more professional experience by watching other professional directors working on plays.

Evaluation

I have started my evaluation but after writing 1,000 words am so confused about what to write next yeah have to show my film to my client next week so i can include their feed back as well in my work need to know what do they think of all this work. so what i am actually stuck on is what type of methods and time management i used to finish this project off still in thoughts and thinking to start writing my next bit.

Handing in my project

On 26th on march morning at 9.00am I was in university to burn my disk DVD well I thought because I am done I would just burn its and go but hey I ended up staying till 4 and that’s when I handed in my project. Rest till about five I thought why not work on my 5th artefact evaluation which I haven’t done yet I got my results but I didn’t do my evaluation because of my client videos so that was the time when I even finished my evaluation got it proof read from 2 people and will hand it in once i am sure that I should post it now.

My final Edit

I did my final edit on 23rd march 2010. In total I had about 7 edits and I was not happy with 6 of them because there was a lot of unnecessary footage there and some parts where really shaky, also each time I did my edit I showed it to group of people so they can give me feed back on how I am doing and what else I need to prove. I did not show my footage to different people each time because then it gets to complicated so I kept 5 people the same each time I showed it to them they would give me feed back and tell me how I have improved from last time. now my project needed to be in on 26th march 210 and I needed to decide which edit I want to keep so I went to through all my footage again and I realised the 7th on was good but still needed bit of work on it so I spend my whole day doing that to make it good as possible because that is my final project and I want it to be good. Then time came to make the DVD cover which I already had an idea what sort of design I want so it took me 3 hours to do it.

About 5th Artefact

My next artifact is based on a air crash in 1988 on lockerbie this was caused by a man called Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi and after spending his life in jail now he has been released also he received a hero welcome in his home town. alot of the people and countries were not happy with Britain's decisions of releasing him allot of different stories came in front of the world. what i want to know how people feel about it and what is there reaction on this news i have now come to the point where i have realised that people aren't interested in a general news like story of a girl who sleeps for 2 weeks i mean my audience found that very boring not allot of them wanted to sit there and watch the news at all but it had to be done. people watched Banazir Bhutto assassination news very carefully and were up for giving there views. not many were bothered about Britney going to hospital not saying no1 was interred but they weren't dieing to know either. so my aim for my last 2 artifact sis to get a news that actually interest them and want them to answer my question i read allot about lockerbie disaster after Danny my tutor and i want to go ahead with it and found out more interesting views on this report.

4th Artefact finish

I have done my 4th artifact but wrong thing is i did not stick to my deadline when i was meant to do it. but i am glad its out the way now i can concentrate on SPP for today and do my 75words choose my images so that can be ready to hand in next week.

Comments for my client edit

I wanted to show my edit to few students and also my tutor so i can get to know what changes should be made if there are many should be made.

Comments 1 Student : my interviews were to long and it was bit boring to watch same person for so many minutes and listen to there chat about place i was told by this student that i should keep the interview and instead of her picture i should over lay it with an other images from my footage also my start and my end is good i should stick to it.

Danny Kaye comment: same thing as the student i should over lay the interview with few other footage i have because watching an interview can get really boring if its too long. also sort my audio out as it gets to low and to high at some points.

Comment 2 Student: my start is really good i should stick to the idea and also the ending is good but interviews are to long so i should work on that and replace the clip or over lay it with an other footage of the event.

after getting all these comments i went through my footage again and sorted all the problems out again i am still working on my volume etc.

i have change allot of thins from the last edit i have in total i have 12 edits and i have keep changing it but lats night i have made my final edit which is edit 12 and i will stick to that as its really good and also makes sense i will now make an appointment with my client and show them the footage so they can give their opinion i will then try to work around it again if i have enough time.

My next task for next week is to do my part A and i will make my aim to finish this project in 4 days because its not too long but still it needs time to be done perfectly.I will email my tutor to ask if what type of work images he would like me to put in my assignment as i am bit confused about it. once i understand then i will go ahead with it and do my work.

PRP

My 4th artifact is still not done i should have been starting on 5th artifact but i guess am quiet behind and i should be doing my 5th artifact. today i have printed out my questionnaire for 4th artifact and my aim is to finish this on Monday for definite. as that's my task for next week so i am up to date with my work and not behind at all.

I have done my 2nd edit and this edit will be shown to my tutor then my client as i want some feed back for them to tell me what else i need to change in this project is there anything missing i have a lecture on Tuesday but on Monday this editing will be changed and i might have a 3rd edit as well i want to make this project as good as i can because i have work hard on this and i do not want result to come out bad have been in touch with my tutor and client to discuss and suggest anything that is good .i have shown my first edit to tutor and what ever Danny Kaye told em to change i have and i will try to do this again and keep making changes until its perfect.

Client

I have half my editing which means now i am looking for background music to put in my edit. so far it looks good but you will scenes that shake a bit and that's because we could not use tripods reason for that is because actors were doing their rehearsal and we were filming that so we had to follow them around allot and we could not stand in one place well still its good and its not bad at all its in fact good.

Artefact 3 Evaulation

I have completed my task which i set for myself and that was to complete and post my 3rd evaluation by today. though I'm behind because right now i should be on my 4th artefact but i know i will catch up with it soon as i have found my next story which will be my next test. so for today have worked on PRP rest of the evening my plan is to edit my client project so i am not behind at it.

I have not finished my 3rd artifact well i would say haven't even started on it yet i got too much caught into my client and SPP that i totally forgot i Had to do 6 artefact's well today my plan is to edit my project and on side get people to fill my questionnaires for my 3rd artifact so i can do my evaluation at end of the day and hand it in end of this week. i have started to look for 4th story for My 4th artifact so once i finish doing my 3rd end of this week i can start my 4th asap straight after that.

Have gathered all my footage together and today any time i will be starting my editing i cant really get around of how to use adobe after effect yet but i am working on it and i know i can do it i want my work to look good and professional. with client project i have worked hard and i believe that i will be able to come out with very good results.

SPP Assignment 1

I have completed my 1st SPP assignment and have started to to think about the 2nd one ..this assignment didn't take me Long to do but had to sort my grammar out and make sure its final year so anything that submit is spot on as i don't want no regrets later on specially in final year when there is only few months left till my graduation. i will be submitting my assignment tomorrow or may be later on today as the drop box isn't open yet.

SPP

ok Spp work is out the way now i am so glad that its done so now next thing i will be concentrating on my editing start planning what i need to put in my edits and how i want to do this. working on Spp was not hard but it does take time if you want to make perfect work and i spent alot of time on that subject even though its only 20credits i want them and i want to work my level best to gain those points.today Finlay i will have quick look on the grammar etc to sort it out and then make zip file to submit the whole thing.

While i was doing my SPP work on the side i was also capturing my Client videos too so i can start my editing asap. it helps me to save time and do things on time instead of just capturing i thought i can do 2 things at a time. so today has been a very busy day for me as i was doing work for SPP and capturing My footage too.

The other day i was wondering that what i should about my 3rd artifact,i couldn't think of any story at all and i went on to yahoo just to check My mails and something very interesting caught my eye! a story about a 15 years old girl called Louisa Ball who sleeps for weeks and can not be woken until she wants to. so i decided to do my next artifact on that and ask people about their opinions on this particular story.

OK so client filming is out the way now at least next step is to start on editing and getting the whole footage together also plan on music titles ,interviews how i want to put the whole video together my paper work is all over the place right. and i really to need to start on putting everything together.

SPP Work

well today i have spend all My day working on SPP i have manage to find 4 jobs and even applied for one of them then used the same form as mock application which is part of the assignment.

then comes applying for a course dame i confused i ahve found 3 courses but 4th one I'm looking for which i will make a mock application form for too but i having bit of difficulties with that as i dont know how to go on about it. but will carry on with until i finish this bit today as my today target was set for SPP out the way well at least half of it as i still need to do my 1,000 word evaluation as well to say why i applied for these jobs and courses etc.

I have just finish doing My survey for 2nd artifact i have got My results and now on Wednesday 3rd i will start my evaluation and then have break on Thursday as i got My client project to film at 1 o clock which will take at least few hours to get everything together. after that later in evening if i get time i will carry on doing My evaluation if not then Friday is must.

These are the videos i found from YouTube while i was searching for documentaries based on theatres. these videos are just a guide line for me how things are done ,i will follow my mind and script as i already know what i want to do in my advert.

Filming Day 1- Nottingham Arts Theatre

on February the 1st it was my first filming day with my client. they had this rehearsal night with the kids for their upcoming show called "Our Day Out" i went to film the rehearsal and also to experience how they do things for their show. it was fun i enjoyed myself alot filming took us 2hours at least we interviews one of the directors of the show as well. now next filming date is on the 4Th of February i will soon be starting to plan what i need doing on that day.

OK so my questionnaire has been accepted from my tutor and i have start giving them out to people to fill them up. i been lucky today as in one hour i got 6 people to fill my questionnaire in so 4 more to go i hope i get them done by tonight so i can start working on My evaluation my target is to finish this off by next Tuesday.i have kept myself target for each artifact so i don't get behind with anything.i also need to start filming my client project as well and SPP as well so there is alot going on to keep up with.

Designing the questionaire

For my second artefact I have kept few my questions same as the last one but the video clip is different, even though few questions are same because of the different news report people’s views and opinions will be different. It has not been approved by tutor yet which is why I won’t go a head with handing them out to people yet.

Choice for Artefact 2

As my report is based on people’s perception on different reportage and having good results from the first artefact which was serious news from four different channels.

This time again I have choose to do the same difference will be they are different channels from also time and news story is totally different. I have choose to do a story on Britney spears who is a celebrity who went through a lot this is based on her going to mental breakdown and they had to take her to the hospital. People will have to watch the clips from my blogger and then fill in a questionnaire where they will give us their views on this news which is serious but not serious as someone dieing.

Again 10 people will be filling in the questionnaire and I will be showing my results either by making pie charts or something else all will be done once questionnaires gets done.

Paper work for Client

Today I have been working on my paper for the documentary with Nottingham Arts Theatre. I have manage to do a risk assessment, location release form I have also made a script but once I read it I realised there were so many spelling mistakes and the grammar was quiet bad therefore I have printed the document anyway so I can mark it and see what I need to change.

I have also got dates from my client to film the whole project my first shoot will be on 1st of January 2010 at 6pm, where I will be filming a rehearsal with kids who act in shows for Nottingham Arts Theatre.

Second date is on the 4th January 2010 where I will film an interview with Rebecca Langford and also film around the building take still images this starts at 1pm in afternoon.

Third shoot is on the 9th January 2010 at 5.30pm on this day they have a show going on so there will be a lot going on there.

And that would be it for the whole filming after this I would start my editing and collect music and stuff for the whole documentary.

Documentary Script

I have just finish writing My script there aren't many dialogues mostly shots been filmed. one interview with Becky and few dialogues from kids ,staff and audience but all that is on the spot so they will or they can say anything they like to the camera.

After the meeting

OK so i went to see my my client i spoke to her about what i want to do and how i want to do it.. also showed her my proposal as well which approved now and they are very happy with it.meeting lasted 20minutes and during that i took 3 dates from them where i can come to the location and shoot the video.my documentary is 10 to 15minutes long so and it is all Good with them too.

well today i thought i could ring My client and ask her for the dates but she was busy in a meeting so Becky said i should come and see her at 3 0 clock to sit with her and discuss the whole thing, so i came into university and till 3 i will up grade my blog which i haven't been doing as much i should have been doing amount of work i been doing i have not entered much here but now i will do that regularly and keep up with it.

so far i have done my proposal and it is ready to go to my client but before i do that o need to have a meeting with her and ask her for filming dates ,as in which date she will be free to let em come and film the whole thing well as i said before project will be not long i will keep it maximum 10minutes to 15min long and not more then that i know promotional videos can be very boring so lets not let anyone get bored at all right and make it interesting as possible. i have a plan and i am quiet clear about what i want to do.in the proposal i have shown a time table of what ,when,and how i will be doing everything. i believe i need to be very organised because i have my artifacts and also SPP to concentrate on too not let just one subject my whole priority.

Progress towords my artefact

well so far i have done my first artifact and made my presentation and wrote an evaluation as well.i made too charts to show results and then put them in a word file with my evaluation so you could see what and how i got my results. my questionnaire was based on 10 peoples perception how people react to different reportage ,getting people to do my questionnaire wasn't a easy job as no one likes filling questionnaires any how i did get people and i got what i wanted to do so not a problem at all i am glad that's out the way.

Artefact 1 - Assassination of Banazir Bhutto

I will be using four videos of banazir's assassination from four different channels who will be showing the same news story , i will then carry out a question air to get my results asking peoples perception of each news story how different channel's effected their views in what way i ill also make two graphs to show my results which i will then talk about in my evaluation later on.
